Principal's Message

 

Welcome to the 2026-27 School Year, CMS Families 💚💛,

 

This is an extra special year at Clinton Middle School and should be filled with eagerness, and excitement. Our building is ready for its final voyage.  Clinton Middle School has served our community since 1975 when it brought all of our neighborhood schools together into one school community. Throughout this year we will get to observe the progress of our future Clinton Middle School and anticipate moving into this beautiful space the following school year.

 

 We also have an administrative change for this upcoming school year. I am excited to come on board as Interim Principal and work alongside Ms. Moran and Mr. Notaro as Interim Assistant Principals. I am really excited to embark on a year of learning and growth for me and being reunited with students and families that I had the pleasure of watching them grow since as young as three years old for some of them.

 

The middle school years are a unique phase for students as they grow and develop their independence and start to learn who they are as people.  We are really excited to get the school year going and foster our students to be the best they can be in partnership with their families.

 

First day, transportation, and School hours

We are eager to welcome back our middle school students on August 26, 2026.  Please note that student drop off will be 7:45-8:00, with homeroom starting promptly at 8:00.  Breakfast will be available for students, if needed.  Our fifth grade students will begin their day on the first day by gathering in the cafeteria, and teachers will escort them to their classroom.

 

Our doors will open for students at 7:45, please do not leave students off unattended. Our staff is not on duty to supervise students until 7:45.

 

Our school day will be from 8:00-2:35.  Please refer to the posted bus routes and ensure your child knows which bus they will go home on or if they will be a pick-up or walker. Fifth grade families, please note that the bus numbers are different from elementary school buses.

 

If your child is attending the after school program sponsored by the Clinton Parks and Rec Department, your child will take their assigned bus all the way to the elementary school and a staff from the program will greet them.

 

If you have moved, or your child will be going somewhere other than your address please fill out a transportation form or translated transportation form.

 

We will spend the first few days of school reviewing expectations with our students and getting to know them.   We will begin our benchmark assessments through our IXL platform.

 

MCAS

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education will be releasing student MCAS scores to families digitally this year. You will receive an email from CPS that will contain instructions and a code that you will need to login to the MCAS Family Portal. This is a statewide system put together by the DESE. Schools are being asked to share the login instructions and codes with families.

 

Attendance

Attendance is really important at school. Please review our attendance policy in the student handbook. We will closely monitor student attendance throughout the year and will contact families for attendance meetings if a student is at risk of being chronically absent.  

 

Cell phones/electronic devices

Communication has been sent out by the Superintendent regarding our bell to bell cell phone ban for Clinton Public Schools.  At Clinton Middle School it is the expectation that cell phones are powered off and put away for the duration of the entire school day.  This is the same expectation for smart watches, etc.

 

If parents need to get a message to their student, they may call the school office and our secretaries will relay the message to the student.  Our office phone number is (978) 365-4220.

First Day Forms and Student Schedules

When you log into Infinite Campus to see your child’s schedule, you will be prompted to complete and update the forms for your child. We will not send home paper forms so please make every effort to complete and update information so we have the most accurate information for the start of school.

 

School schedules will be posted August 14, 2026.

 

Traffic Pattern

The Clinton Middle School project continues to progress. The process for drop-off and pick-up will remain very similar to last year. Buses and vans will drop-off and pick-up in front of the school. Parents dropping-off and picking-up should go around the school. Staff will be outside to direct you. Students walking will use the crosswalks in the parking lot.  Please follow outlined traffic patterns and expectations for everyone’s safety.

 

Open House

We invite parents and students to an open house on August 27, 2026.  This evening will be set up in two sessions.  Please join the session that works best for your schedule.

 

 

Communication

Communication between home and school is a very important part of the educational partnership.  We encourage families to communicate with the school whenever there are questions or concerns. We encourage families to reach out directly to the teachers with specific classroom questions and you can email them through the website.  The most accurate way to find out information is through direct school communication or through our Clinton Middle School website.

 

We will use Parent Square as the platform for communication. To take full advantage of this system, families are asked to download the ParentSquare app and set-up an account by

1. Check your email
Look for a welcome invitation from Clinton Public Schools / ParentSquare. The invitation will be sent to the email address we have on file with the school.

2. Click the link
Open the invitation and follow the link to activate your ParentSquare account. Use the same email address that is on file with the school.

Didn't receive an email?
You can also visit ParentSquare directly and select Register. Be sure to register using the email address we have on file with the school.

3. Download the app
After creating your account, download the ParentSquare app on your smartphone or tablet and sign in with your ParentSquare credentials.

Important: Using an email address that is not on file with the school may prevent your account from connecting to your student(s).

School Supply Lists

You can find the school supply lists on our website.

Agendas will be given to each student.  It is very important that agendas come to and from school daily.  This will serve as an organizer for students and will be required daily..

 

Important Dates

• August 20- New to the district student tours for students in grade 5-8 at CMS.  We will begin in the cafeteria at 1:00. 
• August 26- First day for students 
• August 27- Open House for students in grade 5-8  Session 1- 5:30-7, Session 2 6:25-8:00- each session begins in the cafeteria
• September 4- early dismissal- students will be dismissed at 12:00
• September 7- No School
• September 23- Pack your smile- School picture day
